Ask for the review, then answer it
Reviews are one of the strongest signals in local search, and the businesses that get them are usually the ones who simply ask. Then answer them — all of them, the warm and the prickly. A thoughtful reply to a hard review says more about you than ten five-star ratings.
The move
Ask your next three happy customers for a Google review. Reply to every review you already have.
Do it step by step
- Sign in to Google and search your business name to open your profile.
- Tap "Ask for reviews" — Google hands you a short link to share.
- Save that link in your phone. Text it to happy customers the same day.
- Back on your profile, tap "Reviews" to see everything you've received.
- Tap "Reply" under each one — start with the oldest unanswered.
- Thank the good ones by name. Keep it short and human.
- On a hard review: acknowledge it, don't argue, offer to make it right.
