Put the town in the words
People searching locally type the town: "tax preparer in Bemidji," "patio dining near Grand Marais." If your site never names where you are, you’re invisible for the exact searches most likely to become customers. Work your city and region into your headings and copy — naturally, not jammed in.
The move
Add your town to your homepage headline and your contact page, if it isn't already there.
Do it step by step
- Read your homepage headline. Does it name your town or region?
- If not, work it in naturally — "[What you do] in [your town]."
- Check your contact page names the town, not just a street address.
- If you cover a wider area, mention the nearby towns you serve.
- Keep it natural — the way you’d say it out loud, never stuffed.
- Add your region to your title tag and one subheading.
- Save, then re-read out loud to be sure it still sounds human.
