Verdant Dev is an independent web studio in Bemidji. We build careful websites for the businesses that hold this part of Minnesota together — trade shops, sole traders, restaurants, and people whose name is the business. One price, maintained monthly, no invoice waiting at the end of the build.
Built by someone who lives here
I'm Parker Watts, and Verdant Dev is me. That matters mostly in the boring ways: you talk to the person building the site, the same person answers when something breaks, and nobody hands your project to a junior team three time zones away.
It also means I know what a Bemidji winter does to a service business’s phone, and why "we're open" needs to be true on a Sunday in February and a Saturday in July. A site written from somewhere else can't know that.
What a business here actually needs from a website
Most of the businesses we work with don't need a big website. They need a small one that does a few things without fail:
Show up when someone searches. Somebody in Bemidji types "electrician near me" at nine at night. The site needs to be findable, and it needs to name the town — not bury it in a footer. That’s groundwork, not magic, and it is covered in local SEO for northern Minnesota businesses.
Answer the question fast. What you do, where you do it, and how to reach you — visible without scrolling, on a phone, in one tap. Most of your visitors are standing up, holding a phone, in a hurry.
Look as careful as you are in person. This is the one people underrate. If you do meticulous work and your website looks like nobody has touched it, that gap gets noticed. Fairly or not, it's read as a signal.
Stay true. Hours, phone, services, prices. A website that contradicts reality costs you more than no website at all — which is why the monthly care plan is part of the price rather than an upsell.

The work tends to sort itself into a few lines, and each one has its own worries. There are pages for the three we are asked about most:

The plan
One plan, $150 a month, everything included — the build, monthly updates, a yearly style overhaul, monitoring, Search Console, your Google Business Profile, and a plain-English report each month so you know what is happening. Three-month minimum, then cancel anytime. You own the code once that minimum is paid in full.

Where we work
Bemidji and Beltrami County first — that’s home. Beyond that, across northern Minnesota generally; the work is remote-friendly enough that distance rarely matters, and close enough that we can meet when it does.
