A share is a public page

Quick one, and it's a warning that goes past Claude.

Over the weekend, people found that hundreds of shared Claude conversations had quietly turned up in Google search — things folks meant to send to one person, now sitting out in the open. Legal notes, private code, personal stuff. The kind of thing you'd never post on purpose. Same thing happened with ChatGPT a while back. By Sunday most of it had dropped out of Google, and Anthropic looks to have patched it, but a saved link may still open.

Here's the part worth carrying with you. Any AI tool with a "share" button works the same way: sharing makes a public web page. Not a private message — a page, one crawler away from being found. Convenient, and easy to forget.

So treat a share link like a flyer you stapled to the phone pole downtown. Fine for what you'd hand a stranger. Not for a client's address, a password, or anything you'd only tell one person.
