Now it listens better
The biggest change in the newer versions of Claude isn't a flashy new trick — it's that it understands you better. Ask for something in your own words and it is likelier to get what you actually meant the first time, instead of handing back something technically-correct-but-not-what-you-wanted.
For anyone who tried an AI tool a year ago, got a generic or slightly-off answer, and quietly gave up — this is the part worth knowing. The gap between "what I typed" and "what I meant" has narrowed a lot. You can be plain, and even a little vague, and still be understood.
The practical version for a small business: you don't need to learn special phrasing or "prompt tricks." Describe the task the way you'd describe it to a new hire — "write a friendly reply to this unhappy customer, keep it short, don't admit fault" — and you'll usually get something you can actually use.
The move: Take a request an AI tool fumbled for you before, phrase it the way you'd say it out loud to a person, and give it another try — the newer versions are far better at reading your intent.
